An Economic Analysis of the Spillover Effects of Artificial General Intelligence Technology
Abstract: The economic analysis of the impact of Artificial General Intelligence(AGI) on corporate investment and business operations shifts focus away from explicating AGI's technical specifications or operational mechanisms.Instead,it centers on examining the effects of AGI technology spillovers on corporate investment, managerial practices, and government macro-governance.Concerning the impact of AGI spillovers on economic activities, attention should be directed at least to the following dimensions:(1)How the application of big data analytics inherent in AGI will transform corporate investment decisions, production operations, and product sales;(2) The channels through which AGI technology spills over into enterprises' production, supply, and sales activities, and the emerging scenarios as firms absorb and deploy AGI;(3) The potential impacts of widespread AGI adoption on market regulation mechanisms;(4) How the efficiency of government macro-governance might evolve with the adoption of AGI technology.Furthermore, the economic analysis of AGI spillovers should be grounded in institutional frameworks, economic agents, and behavioral patterns—specifically focusing on corporate decision-making,output and price determination, competition versus monopoly dynamics, and industrial organization.Elucidating these issues will yield novel theoretical insights into the potential reshaping of microeconomic foundations within the digital economy.
