The “United Front” in Literature and the Reconstruction of Contemporary Literature in China after 1949—— On the Literary Works of Mei Niang, Zhou Zuoren and Eileen Chang in Yi Bao Field in the 1950s
Abstract: After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Communist Party decided to retain several tabloids in Shanghai, etc, in order to guide the specific readers from the Republic of China to progress in the new society. The tabloids Da Bao and Yi Bao in Shanghai, the Ta Kung Pao in Hong Kong, and the Xinmin Evening Paper in Shanghai, formed the Yi Bao field of the 1950s. The Yi Bao field continued for eight years, providing another mode of literary production and literary text. Bringing them into the history of literature may help us to rediscover the richness and complexity of the Chinese literature of the 1950s
