Abstract: The May Fourth Movement has been mostly regarded as the beginning of the transition from cultural movement to political movement, which is undoubtedly true in a long-term perspective. From a short-range perspective, after the May Fourth Movement, or for the purpose of reflection, many young students had a tendency to go further and forward on the original path of the cultural movement, which was mainly reflected in that more and more people held a sense of division of labor in the cultural movement, and “division of career” has gradually become a popular slogan. This tendency was particularly evident within the Young China Association. Under the guidance of the principle of division of labor, many members of the association consciously assumed the ideological and academic mission, and explicitly proclaimed the thought of “saving the nation by learning” in addition to existing social movements.
