Repression/Liberation: A Set of Contrast in Lu Xun‘s Writings
Abstract: The contrast between repression and liberation of the force of life is an important dimension in the production of meaning in Lu Xun‘s writings.Lu Xun‘s descriptions of natural environment are always based on a meaning frame with a contrast between repression and liberation.Wideness,remote and magnificence are the common characteristics of the composition of space and time in Lu Xun‘s writings,with which the liberation of the force of life become possible.As other side of the contrast,the repression of the force of life is derived from the siege of the dominant system of language representation.The main efforts exerted by Diary of a madman is to demonstrate the repression and siege on the force of life by the dominant system of language representation,and its struggle and resisting.The contrast between repression and liberation in The Real Story of Ah-Q,New Year‘s Sacrifice and Kong Yiji have transformed into a new form as repression/distortion.A constant pursuit in Lu Xun‘s writing is to uncover and demonstrate the persons whose internal life is burning with a bright flame from the remote countryside,the ancient age and the abyss of repression and siege.
