The Intertextuality with History and Realistic Spiritual Character of Out of the Basin
Abstract: Zhou Daxin’s novel Out of the Basin reveals the dual dilemma of material and spiritual suffering that contemporary farmers have long suffered by depicting the poignant journey of rural young woman Zou Ai from fleeing her hometown to being forced to return home,from entrepreneurship to failure.Out of the Basin which has intertextuality with the development and changes of contemporary rural society ,can be described as a record of the spiritual history of the suffering and struggle of contemporary farmers and young people .At the same time,the novel also focuses on the challenges and survival difficulties of young urban intellectuals in the 1980s,touching on the complexity of social transformation,rapid changes in ideological concepts,and their background motivations .That exploring the intertextuality and realistic character between the novel Out of the Basin and social history helps to re-examine the complex situation and literary significance of realistic literature in the new era.
