A Critical Analysis of Evoluted American Strategic Thinking and Its Impact on the U.S.Hegemony
Abstract: The American strategic thinking is composed of three schools, namely capital fundamentalism, spiritual imperialism and military superiority realism. The former represents the central argument, while the latter two play affliative and supplementary roles to influnce policies for sustaining the U.S.hegemony.Throughout a long-time evolution these schools have developed respective doctrines, goals and group interest. In the days they workd well with each other, their contests remained reasonably complimantary in translating state capability into capital appreciation. However,as spiritual imperialism and superiortiy realism overtook capitalist fundamentalism in practice, the true alienation of prioritizing “means” over “goals” occured.Since the 20th century American strategic thinking unvailed a steady process of disintegrity of the three schools, severly undermining their systematic and philosophical coherence that once backed up the U.S.global strategy.Due to its capitalist nature of indefinite expansion, the United States always faces the ambivlence caused by its contractionary interest-driven ambitions and growing containments in a rapidly-changing external environment. When its ability gets weaker or worse to nevigate through its mind confusion, the hegemony is doomed to decline.
