To Tame or to Be Tamed：Human Autonomy under Digital Leviathan

With the rapid development of digital technology,a new form of state power — the digital Leviathan is emerging due to the closer alliance between state power and numbers.The emergence of digital Leviathan has brought the balanced relationship between individuals and the state to a new turning point.Digital Leviathan has changed human’s living conditions and greatly undermined the Human autonomy,with its more sophisticated power operation system,more secretive power execution methods,more thorough power control and more rapid power expansion.Hence,individuals are not only difficult to tame Leviathan but are being tamed by it.Under the digital Leviathan,individuals may return to the jungle,and the basic elements of human autonomy are also in danger of being redefined by numbers.What tests the wisdom of theorists and politicians now is how to protect human autonomy,how to gradually realize the interdependent relationship between state power and individual rights as well as their guarantee mechanisms in an ideal sense,and achieve a balance of power between the state and individuals.
