Abstract: As the royal family of the Northern Wei,Eastern Wei and Western Wei,the Yuan family became one of the largest families in the Northern Dynasties.The literary activities of the Yuan family are an important part of literary research in the Northern Dynasties.Combining handed down documents and unearthed documents,we can statistically analyze the number of scribes and the number of scribes in the Yuan family.In terms of inheritance and specific literary and academic activities,there are currently more than 90 scribes of the Yuan dynasty.Most of them originated from Emperor Xiaowen’s Chinesization reform.Many of the scribes of the Yuan dynasty became celebrities and had the cultural characteristics of the Southern Dynasties in literature and academics.This provides an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of Emperor Xiaowen’s Chinesization reform,and also proves that the Chinesization reform was culturally influenced by the new learning in Wei,Jin,Henan,and the popular culture of the Southern Dynasties.The study of the literary scholarship of the Yuan family will help to further understand the Chinesization reform of the Northern Wei Dynasty and its rise and fall,as well as the Chinesization process of Xianbei scribes,etc.It also provides research perspectives and materials for the comprehensive study of the literary scholarship of the Northern Dynasties.
