On Social Justice as a Moral Foundation

Social justice is the foundation of morality. A society in which morality and spiritual civilization flourish must be a society full of justice. The lack of social justice will inevitably lead to the crisis of morality and spiritual civilization. To promote social morality and spiritual civilization, we must hold high the banner of justice and break away from the unity of righteousness and benefit with benevolence and righteousness as the core in traditional Chinese society. Justice is the primary value of social system and the eternal pursuit of human beings. All morality should embody justice and be based on justice. Justice is the basic yardstick to measure modern morality. Morality that violates justice is pseudo-morality. Without justice as the basis, morality will lose its basis, and justice and evil will no longer matter. Without justice, China’s history will always be a cycle of success and failure, and successful heroes may become tyrants in an instant.
