民族志叙事与女性经验

摘要: 从记录民族生活史、经验史的角度而言,民族志叙事已然是文学最重要的品格之一。王安忆《天香》正是一部以“天香园绣”为切入口的女性民族志叙事文本。《天香》并非展览种种女性生活史质料,而是据此梳理、建构出一脉以“女织”为中心的女性经验史,并以此为框架来重新理解江南地方社会传统乃至中华耕织文化传统。任何传统与其说是自然形成的,不如说是被发明、建构起来的,在这过程中,一些经验被强调、夸大,而另一些经验则被遮蔽、省略、修改。那么,将女性经验带入地方传统乃至整个本土传统中,其意义不言而喻。这是《天香》在文化层面上带给我们的启示;再者,《天香》以女性为经验主体、文化主体的民族志叙事策略,不仅超越了寻根文学以来的中国当代文学民族志叙事的惯例,还可能预示着本土形态的中国当代女性主义文学写作的渐趋成熟。这是《天香》在文学层面上带给我们的启示。
Ethnographic Narration and Female Experience

Abstract: From the perspective of recording the history of national life and experience, ethnographic narration is one of the most important characters of literature. Wang Anyi’s novel Tianxiang (《天香》) is exactly a female text of ethnographic narration, taking the “Tianxiang Garden Embroidery” (Shanghai Gu embroidery of the Ming Dynasty) as its starting point. The novel Tianxiang is not an exhibition of all kinds of materials about women’s life history, but a history of women’s experience centered on “women’s weaving” (embroidery), which is used as a framework to reunderstand the local social tradition in Jiangnan, and even the Chinese farming and weaving cultural tradition. Any tradition is invented and constructed, not formed naturally. In this process, some experiences are emphasized and exaggerated, while others are obscured, omitted and modified. Therefore, bringing female experience into local tradition and even the whole Chinese native tradition is of great significance. Moreover, the ethnographic narrative strategy of Tianxiang, which takes women as the experience subject and culture subject, not only goes beyond the tradition of ethnographic narration of contemporary Chinese literature since Root-seeking Literature, but also may indicate the maturity of contemporary Chinese feminist literary writing in its native form. These are the inspirations that Tianxiang brings to us in both culture and literature.
