Research on Knowledge Society Transformation under the Trend of Deep Mediatization
Abstract: As an advanced stage of mediatization, deep mediatization constitutes a crucial environment for the transformation of the knowledge society.Human knowledge practices increasingly rely on data-driven digital media and their infrastructure.Applying a sociological perspective to reposition key changes in the knowledge society,a reanalysis reveals that the transformation of the knowledge society includes shifts in the knowledge generation system, knowledge composition institutions, and knowledge cultural environment. These transformative processes also entail uncertain consequences.Firstly, there is the instability of social structures and an escalation of control.Secondly, there emerges a scientific and value trap driven by data-centric knowledge society. These consequences give rise to new predicaments, which are associated with deep mediatization and the vulnerability of new knowledge institutions. These predicaments include issues related to safeguarding the digital public domain, knowledge integration in deep mediatization, and knowledge innovation based on embodied practices.
