Abstract: Many of the literary debates in the early 1980s were closely related to “The Times’ Report”. During the period of 1980-1982, This journal frequently made controversy in the literary world by criticizing certain works, as well as issues such as “writing the essence” and “writing the reality”, how to carry out literary criticism, how to view the relationship between intellectuals and workers, peasants and soldiers and the transformation intellectuals’ thinking, how to evaluate the literature of the new period and the literature of the “Seventeen Years”. This journal was frequently criticized by many literary journals for this reason. From the relationship between the relevant controversies and various literary journals,the process of adjustment and transformation between the old and new literary norms and its complexity can be better understood.
