From A Special Type of Knowledge to A Special Human Activity

  • To understand philosophy as a special “type of knowledge” or as a special “type of human activity” represents two very different perspectives to understand philosophy itself. Investigating contemporary philosophical development, there is a great change and turn to understand philosophy consciously from the perspective of special “human activity” rather than that of special “type of knowledge”, which means a new paradigm shift to grasp the nature and functions of philosophy. The change and turn is an important self-liberation for philosophy, which provides a solid foundation for the legitimation of philosophy in human culture.
