On the View of Imagery in Zhouyi

Abstract
The image of Zhouyi is an important source of imagery, which reflecting the way how ancients feel about the world. " Abstracting image from viewing” is based on the observation with respect, then by imitating the image and understand its essence. Abstracting the image shows the emotional attitude and interest of the subject which makes the image and meaning instantly and holily bind together, thus transcending the boundaries of objects and subjects by expressing the meaning of the subject with sensible and touchable image and conveying infinite rich meaning with a limited image, which is the way of being identical of object and self. The image is the body, and the meaning is the soul, while the two are integrally one. " Making image for successful expression’ includes not only about the image of objects (Wu Xiang) and things (Shi Xiang), but also the image of imitation (Ni Xiang) and all phenomena of nature (Fa Xiang). " Making things by observing the image” is also a concrete manifestation of making image for successful expression. The creation of the image in Zhouyi is based on the method of Bi and Xing to successful express by analogy, and the use of metaphor to convey the rich ideological interest which is connected with the creation of aesthetic imagery. " Abstracting image from viewing” and " making image for successful expression” reflect the aesthetic way of thinking, while " to understand the virtues of God, to analogize the reason and sense of all things” satisfies the subjects’ creative desire and embodies the consciousness of being.
