The Memory Field of Historical Criminal Evidence:Military Songs and Japan’s War Memory
-
Abstract
“Sound scape” and “auditory experience” are rising in contemporary historical research, but the research on war songs and historical memory is in the ascendant.Military song itself is not only the medium of memory, but also the memory of the media. It is a political voice that is easy to be represented by history. As the “simultaneous voice” of war memory, the Japanese military song of World War II “Rose” and became the “March” of Showa war,the “beautifying agent” of the image of the Japanese army and the “memory field” of historical criminal evidence. After the declaration of defeat in 1945,Japan’s World War II military songs,as the “revival song” of the memory of defeat, still sing “revival”.We need to be vigilant against the emotional community of “historical hypocrisy” embodied in the “nostalgic tide” of contemporary military songs, the intergenerational continuation of “military interest” and the practical needs of “Anti War Peace”.
